That creates a harsh glare that can actually stress your eyes—and if you’ve got a baby in the house with developing vision, that’s a real concern. We figured out a way to shift that peak emission so it’s much gentler. Keeping things safe for your eyes We mix specific dopants into the quartz glass and dial in the filament temperature to filter out that annoying blue-light spectrum. The result? We move the heat into the long-wave infrared range. This means the warmth actually sinks into your skin, but you don’t get that blinding light that makes you squint. You get all the cozy vibes without the eye strain. The nuts and bolts We house the heating element in high-purity quartz. We use it because it doesn’t crack or freak out when the temperature swings wildly, unlike cheap glass. Here’s the thing: bathrooms are damp. In most heaters, the seal between the tube and the end-caps is the first thing to go. To fix that, we use high-temp ceramic seals. It keeps the moisture out of the filament chamber so the lamp doesn’t burn out the moment your shower gets steamy. A few things to keep in mind These are designed to slide right into your existing fixtures. But there is a trade-off. Because we’ve tuned the spectrum to be safe for your eyes, they aren’t quite as “aggressive” as those industrial short-wave lamps. You might notice it takes a few extra seconds to feel the heat, but you won’t get that stinging sensation on your skin. It’s a much softer experience. One pro tip: pair these with a dimmable transformer. If you run them at 100% all the time, you’re going to wear out the tube faster. Just dial it back to about 80%. You’ll still keep that eye-safe warmth, and your filaments will last a whole lot longer.
