That’s what we built this modern infrared bathroom heater to do. We paired a powerful quartz heating element with a smart control system. The idea? Give you radiant heat the moment you need it, and let you control it right from your phone. No waiting. No fuss.
The Power Behind the Warmth
At the heart of the unit is a quartz infrared tube. It runs at 2500W on standard 220V–240V power, so you get serious heat from a small package. The tube is around 300mm long, which means it fits neatly into compact housings without forcing you to redesign everything. Because it runs on standard mains voltage, you don’t need bulky transformers. But it does need a dedicated circuit. Make sure you plan for proper fusing and a switch rated for the load.
Built to Last, Designed to Fit
We chose a halogen-filled quartz envelope because it handles high heat with ease and delivers steady output. Quartz also stands up to repeated on/off cycles without cracking from thermal shock. To make sure as much heat as possible goes where you want it, the back of the tube has a reflective coating. It pushes the warmth forward, so you feel more of it and waste less. For connections, we use an R7s connector. It gives a solid, reliable contact and makes the tube a straightforward drop-in replacement. Installation is simple: slide it in, secure it, and you’re good to go.
Smart Controls, Real-World Reality
Here’s where it gets really useful: the infrared module connects to Wi-Fi or your smart home hub. You can turn the heat on with one tap from anywhere. The heat itself arrives in seconds, because it warms people and surfaces directly—not the air. That speed comes with a few practical notes. The 2500W output means things get hot, so the enclosure and nearby materials need to handle that. You’ll still need proper ventilation and clearance. On the install side, the smart module adds a bit of wiring complexity. Neutral and ground must be done right, and the module needs protection from bathroom moisture. For engineers and integrators, the payoff is clean: a compact heater that’s easy to spec, wires up to standard mains, and delivers immediate, controllable warmth.
