
Stop Replacing Your Infrared Heaters Every Few Months
Most industrial infrared heaters don’t actually die because the heating element gave out. It’s usually something much stupider: dust and water. Moisture and grit sneak into the housing, hit a terminal, and—pop—you’ve got a short circuit or a rusted-out connection. We got tired of seeing that happen, so we built our table heaters with an IP55 rating to shut that down. What does IP55 actually mean for you? Basically, it means the unit can handle a decent amount of dust and those annoying low-pressure water jets that seem to come from everywhere in a busy shop. We did this by sealing the chassis joints and using gaskets that act like a shield for the electrical guts. If you’re working on a floor with coolant mist or the occasional accidental splash, this is huge. Without those seals, water hits a hot quartz tube or the wiring, and you’re looking at an immediate burnout or a breaker that keeps tripping for no apparent reason. The hidden killer: Condensation Then there’s the fog. When a heater cycles off, the temperature drops fast. That’s when ambient moisture settles on the lens or the tube. It doesn’t just block the heat; it traps water right against the electrical connections. We tweaked the airflow and picked materials that stop this moisture from building up. It keeps the surface clear and stops that “wet-dry-wet” cycle that eventually cracks quartz tubes. A quick heads-up Here’s the trade-off: because the unit is so well-sealed, it’s more airtight. That means heat can build up inside the housing a bit faster than it would in a cheap, open-frame heater. Just make sure you give the unit some breathing room when you mount it. As long as you follow the clearance specs, your internal wiring will stay cool. We built these things to take a beating in damp, messy conditions. By blocking the splashes and killing the fog, you spend less time swapping out broken parts and more time actually running your production.
